This 1970 chevelle was originally built at the oshawa, canada plant as a chevelle malibu sport coupe. From the factory it was painted forest green metallic and had a black vinyl top. The factory black interior featured front bucket seats with a console and horseshoe shifter. The original drivetrain consisted of 4 wheel manual drum brakes, manual steering, a 10 bolt rearend, a th350 transmission, and probably a 307 small block. The car has undergone a complete frame off restoration/modification. The frame was disassembled, media blasted, and powdercoated gloss black. The car spent most of its life up north so there is evidence of the old rust in the surface pitting of the frame. It was then reassembled with a new crate 9" rearend from strange engineering with 31 spline axles and 3. 50 gears on a posi differential. The rearend was attached to the frame with new tubular steel trailing arms from pmt fabrication. They feature polyurethane bushings and the uppers are adjustable. The front suspension was reassembled with new a arm bushings and upper and lower ball joints. The car has also been converted to power steering with a new gearbox and hoses. New power disc brakes at all 4 corners take the place of the factory manual drums. The fronts are mounted on new disc brake spindles and the rears have the integrated parking brake. These are plumbed to the master cylinder and new booster with all new hard lines and hoses. The system also features a proportioning valve for fine tuning the front to rear bias. The rallye wheels were sandblasted, painted black, and reuse the factory derby style center caps. I have the beauty rings for the wheels also. Rear tires are nitto drag radials 275/60-15 and the fronts are goodyear eagle gt 205/65-15. The body of the car has had an extensive amount of work done to it. The previous owner had replaced the lower quarters, trunk pan, floor pan, inner and outer wheel housings, rocker panels, and front fenders. With the body off the frame rusted areas were cut out and replaced. The underside was sprayed with rubberized undercoating. The firewall area was stripped and painted with ppg gloss black. With new rubber body mount bushings the body was put back back on the frame. A tremendous amount of time was spent test fitting, trimming, tweaking, and adjusting body panels to get tight even gaps. Before the paint was applied everything was sealed with ppg epoxy primer. Then 3 coats of ppg forest green metallic and 4 coats of clear were sprayed. This includes hood hinges and springs, hood latch and pin, headlight buckets, core support, bumper brackets and all other small parts. To keep with the resto theme a new black vinyl top was installed. All the factory stainless was cleaned and polished before being reinstalled. To keep the look of the car subtle no "ss" badges were used, only the factory "chevelle" emblems were reused. The car is now powered by a gm performance 502 ho crate motor. This is the iron headed version that is rated at 450 hp and 550 ft/lbs of torque. The motor has been upgraded with a milodon 7 qt oil pan, cvr electric water pump, crane gold roller rockers, a dui distributor custom curved for the motor, and finally topped with fitech go efi 4 600hp kit. The fuel injection is great and very user friendly. The fuel system starts with a modified factory style tank. -8an braided stainless hose leads to a barry grant fuel filter, then to a speedmaster 450 lb/hr fuel pump, to a second filter before it goes into the throttle body. The throttle body has a built in non-adjustable pressure regulator. Fuel is then returned to the tank with a -6an braided hose. The custom exhaust system starts with hooker ceramic coated with 2-⅛ primary tubes. These are connected to a pair of flowmaster mufflers and then out to the back of the car all with 3" tubing. Extra time was spent keeping the exhaust tucked up tight to the car. Behind the motor is a summit racing th400 transmission with a hughes performance 2500hd stall converter. Arp fasteners were used for the flexplate and stall converter bolts. Next is a custom driveshaft made from 3. 5" dom tubing with 1350 series u joints. The transmission is kept cool with a b&m mega cooler connected with braided hoses and an fittings. Cooling is done with a new aluminum radiator from ecp. A 16" spal electric fan is mounted to an aluminum shroud and controlled by the fitech system. The interior started with new jute padding with a radiant barrier backing installed under the new black carpet. Radiant barrier was also applied to the underside of the roof before the new black headliner. The front factory buckets were disassembled and reassembled with new seat foam, new upholstery, and new chrome trim. The seat tracks were blasted and clearcoated. The console was disassembled and restored. All new door panels and weatherstripping were installed. The factory dash has been modified with all autometer pro comp gauges for tach, speedo, volts, transmission temp, oil pressure, and fuel level. The fitech display is used for coolant temp as well as numerous other functions. The stereo system was subtly installed even though its 1400 watts rms output is anything but subtle. The head unit is a kenwood excelon connected to an alpine mrp m1000 amplifier that powers two boston acoustics g5 10" subwoofers mounted in a custom leather wrapped enclosure in the trunk. The second amplifier is an alpine mrp f600 4 channel amp that powers two mtx bullet tweeters mounted under the dash and two infinity kappa component speakers mounted in a custom leather wrapped package tray. A chrome 160 amp 1 wire alternator provides the electricity for the car. The entire build has a little over 800 miles on it. It is inspected, registered, and insured. Call with any questions.
