Introducing the: 1956 ford f100 (1/2 ton) step side bed - long in line 6 cylinder engine manual shift tranny (3 speed on the column) red factory exterior and interior paint 12 volt system from the factory 9" factory ford rear end original ford steel wheels, steel spare original bench seat (not yet re-covered) saddle blanket seat cover original battery cover is still present, which covers the battery in the floor board. New driver's side floor panel. New red line tires (4). Extra parts, include windshield molding, trim, heater core, leaf springs, hardware for the doors, tie rod end, switches, spare parts, etc. This '56 has the original frame, front end, grill, cab, doors, bed, dash, running boards, etc. The numbers stamped on the frame and the cab do match the title. This pickup truck has not been clipped or chopped. The frame is straight. The rockers are good and the doors are good. This classic ford pickup is extremely decent over all! Rust is not a concern. The bed sides are nice, the tailgate is good, and the fenders are in good shape for a 1956. The body is in amazing condition for a 1956. It will take much less to restore than most i have seen. This is a huge plus! After market oil and temperature gauges were installed, which is always a preference over dummy lights. The oil pressure is good on the engine and it sounds really good. The choke is working. New thermostat, gasket, hoses, etc. The original fuel tank is laying in the bed and can be re-lined or re-placed. At this time, the truck will start and run off of a small temporary gas tank. The original wooden boards, due to age, have been removed. The new bed wood slats can be obtained through "mid fifty" or "lmc trucks" or another means. Flooring comes in oak, pine, and various other choices of quality wood. Restoration process: the body was set off of the frame and the process of cleaning, painting, and re-conditioning started. The fenders were just bolted back on with new nuts. (the owner planned to order new bumpers, and they are in-expensive.) the truck received new u bolts, u joints, shocks, and various parts. The ford drum brake system is original. A new master cylinder was installed but it may have an issue, so the truck will need some minor brake work. New wheel cylinders were installed, and it rolls well. A new clutch kit was installed, which consists of clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, etc. The inline 6 cylinder was opened up and inspected. It was very clean and did not require much attention. The original style 1904 holley carb was refurbished. (glass bowl view aka visview) the truck has a few farm truck dents that will need a little attention. Rust is not an issue. The hard work is done and this classic truck is so worthy of finishing! About fords of this era: the 1956 is a "stand alone" year model, being the only year that the engine's factory color was yellow bottom / silver top. The 12 volt system was introduced with the generator, rather than the old 6 volt system. The fuel neck is in a different location. The 1956 f series pickup has the moon shape gauges, sometimes referred to as the rainbow.
